DIMAPUR — Educational institutions across Nagaland organised various academic, educational and student activities, including an educational field visit, a public speaking championship, Xavier Board Week, postgraduate graduation and the Engineer's Day programme.
St. Joseph University: The departments of Civil Engineering and Computer Science Engineering, St. Joseph University (SJU), Chümoukedima, in association with the Institution of Engineers (India), observed Engineer’s Day on September 15 at the SJU auditorium on the theme “Smart engineering for a sustainable future through innovation and digitalisation”.
Vice Chancellor Dr. D Gnanadurai delivered the special address on smart engineering, innovation, digitalisation and sustainable engineering practices.
ICFAI University: The Department of Linguistics, ICFAI University Nagaland, organised an educational field visit to the Deaf Biblical School (DBS), Naharbari, Dimapur, on September 15.
According to an update, students, accompanied by faculty members, interacted with learners and staff and observed visual-gestural modalities, classroom interactions and educational strategies for deaf students.
The visit focused on communication methods within the deaf community and the relationship between linguistic concepts such as phonology, syntax and semantics and sign language. It also sought to promote inclusivity and awareness of deaf communication.

C-Edge College: C-Edge College held the final of its 8th Public Speaking Championship on September 15 at GK Auditorium following a two-week training programme and preliminary rounds.
Hoto I Swu of BBA V Semester was declared champion for his speech, "The other way around", while Ningthuiliu of BBA V Semester was first runner-up for "Just this one". Mughakivi of BBA V Semester was second runner-up for "The Art of Quitting". Zakali of BA III Semester and Sneha Dey of BBA V Semester were the other finalists. The event was sponsored by Principal Emeritus Dr. Chubatola Aier.
NEISSR: The North East Institute of Social Sciences and Research (NEISSR), 7th Mile, Chümoukedima, observed Xavier Board Week 2026 from September 7 to the 13th on the theme “Celebrating 75 years of legacy and beyond” and the spirit of “Learning through service, serving through learning".
Activities included essay writing, plantation, community service, health and nutrition awareness, school-based counselling, child-care activities, palliative care, rural outreach and social entrepreneurship training. Trainees worked with schools, villages, health centres, care institutions, rehabilitation centres and community organisations.
Sazolie College: Sazolie College, Phezhu, Jotsoma, held its 3rd Post-Graduate Graduation Day for the Class of 2026 at Vineizono Hall on September 15.
Chingnunmoi Guite (Rank 5), Keneisanuo Miario (Rank 3), Oreno K Yanthan (Rank 4), Libah Phom (Rank 5), and Talitemsula (Rank 8) received Management Toppers Awards for their university rankings.
Principal Dr. Gopal Chetri delivered the commencement speech. Dr. Limanaro Imsong pronounced the benediction, while K A Tenso Phom chaired the programme.
