NSRLM signs MoU with SELCO Foundation in Bengaluru to support 500 rural women entrepreneurs annually in Nagaland.
DIMAPUR — The Nagaland State Rural Livelihoods Mission signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the SELCO Foundation on Wednesday at the latter's office in Bengaluru, Karnataka, to reinforce structured support for rural women entrepreneurs.
Addressing officials from both organisations during the signing, Mission Director of Nagaland State Rural Livelihoods Mission (NSRLM) Moa Sangtam shared that the partnership provides an opportunity to fast-track learning and deliver support, ranging from technology and enterprise development to branding, marketing, and access to networks, based on the actual needs of entrepreneurs.
The partnership will focus on three interlinked programmes: incubation of food-processing enterprises to enhance women-led food-processing enterprises in Dimapur, Kohima, Peren, and Phek districts with need-based technology and capacity building up to marketing; building a champion network to identify and support champions across districts for experience sharing, mentorship, and strengthening peer networks across agriculture, animal husbandry, fisheries, and non-timber forest produce-based enterprises; and growing the decentralised renewable energy and productive-use technology ecosystem to expand access across enterprise components alongside operational and maintenance skills.
Through the partnership under the agreement, an estimated 500 rural women are expected to receive support in a given year.
