DIMAPUR — The Eastern Naga Students’ Federation (ENSF) has raised objections to remarks reportedly made by the advisor for School Education during a recent meeting, in which the advisor is alleged to have described the organisation’s demands on teacher rationalisation as “nonsense.”
In an open letter dated September 3, the federation acknowledged the challenges involved in implementing the rationalisation policy and appreciated the advisor’s role in pursuing reforms for better quality education in the state.
While expressing confidence in the advisor’s leadership, the ENSF maintained that the public, nonetheless, has the right to question and approach the government for better facilities and reforms.
It expressed displeasure at the reported remarks, stating: “It is highly unexpected and unbecoming of a tall leader to make a proactive statement branding the genuine demands and aspirations of a reputed organisation as ‘nonsense.’”

The federation reminded the advisor that while leaders in the past had made contributions, some lost public trust because of a “dictatorial character.”
It further urged him to exercise patience and humility in his role as a political representative, stressing that he must represent the interests of the student community across Nagaland.
