Students perform a flash mob to spread awareness on HIV & AIDS prevention in Dimapur on Monday.


DIMAPUR — The Red Ribbon Club (RRC) of MGM College, Dimapur, conducted an Intensified Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) Campaign on Monday across five locations in Dimapur—Sub-jail Junction, DC Court Junction, Imli Ghas Junction, Notun Basti Junction, and Clock Tower.


The campaign was organised under the guidance of the RRC nodal officer. The initiative aimed to create mass awareness on HIV & AIDS prevention, encourage healthy lifestyle practices, and reduce stigma and discrimination against people living with HIV & AIDS, according to an update from the school.


The update mentioned that through engaging flash mobs and traditional folk performances, the campaign drew significant public attention, effectively blending entertainment with powerful social messaging.

Before every performance, Fuchumo Yanthan, nodal officer, highlighted the core objectives of the campaign. He emphasised the importance of collective awareness and proactive action in combating HIV & AIDS while fostering a culture of inclusivity and empathy.


He further remarked that community involvement was crucial for the success of such initiatives and appreciated the cooperation extended by all present.
