DIMAPUR — Fazl Ali College in Mokokchung marked its 66th foundation day on Monday at the college auditorium.
On the occasion, the guest of honour, Ajit Kumar Verma, deputy commissioner of Mokokchung, praised the leadership of the college’s founding fathers and urged students and faculty to carry forward their rich legacy.
According to a press release, he emphasised that education goes beyond graduation and certificates; it is about contributing meaningfully to society.
Verma encouraged the college to be a centre of innovation and reminded all that Mokokchung, being the land of pioneers, carries the responsibility of fostering progress for the state.

The principal delivered the foundation day address, during which he highlighted the college’s achievements and developments over the last session. Academically, the college produced 24 university toppers.
He cited significant developments, including the introduction of the B.Com course, increased enrolment in the Science stream, notable faculty achievements, ongoing research projects, organisation of seminars and conferences, infrastructural developments, and MoUs signed with various institutions. He also emphasised areas to work towards for the coming sessions.
Following the address, a felicitation of meritorious students was conducted by Dr. Adangla Changkija, convenor of the awards committee. Awards were presented to the toppers in each department, the overall college topper, stream toppers, Student of the Year, and achievers in various other fields.
