DIMAPUR — Deputy Chief Minister TR Zeliang on Monday said that the state government is taking gradual steps to enhance sensitisation and promote technical education for the younger generation.
In this regard, the deputy CM entrusted the deputy commissioner to organise sensitisation programme for civil society organisations under Peren district, including Tening and Nsong circles, a DIPR report stated.
Zeliang was addressing the monthly meeting of the Peren District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) held at the DC's Office, New District Headquarters, Peren.
He also highlighted that the government has appointed and placed well-qualified lecturers in every educational institution in the state, including Government Polytechnic Peren. Therefore, he urged the civil society to avail the opportunity provided by the government.

The deputy CM urged the ITI & Polytechnic, Peren, to prepare and present PowerPoint presentations during the sensitisation seminar organised in the district. In this regard, DC Peren assured to organise a seminar to impart technical education to the community in the district.
The DC informed the house that he had apprised the internet service providers and the concerned departments to provide better internet facilities, and road connectivity in and around the offices for smooth functioning of government offices in the district headquarters.
Regarding land allotment in the district headquarters, the DC said many head of offices have been allotted land to construct department offices.
In this regard, the deputy chief minister urged the district officers to keep in touch with their departmental contractor to construct their offices according to their convenience.

He further stated that Peren New District Headquarters is Nagaland’s first master-planned model township, demarcated for especially for construction of offices and quarters.
Earlier, the meeting commenced with a review of the previous meeting minutes followed by deliberation on various developmental agendas. While deliberating on the agendas of the day, the board approved the proposal for creation of Government Primary School at Tening Namsan.
The house decided to host the 11th inter-departmental tournament in November and formed an organising committee led by the additional deputy commissioner of Peren as convener, district sports officer as member secretary, and SDO (C) headquarters as member.
In the meeting, PowerPoint presentations were given by survey officer, Department of Land Record, projecting the departmental activities in the district.
