MOKOKCHUNG — A three-day awareness programme on cybersecurity and emerging AI tools, coupled with hands-on training in digital productivity tools, concluded at the Mokokchung College of Teacher Education (MCTE), Mokokchung, on September 12.
The programme was organised by the National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NEILIT) in collaboration with MCTE to equip students and faculty with vital skills to navigate the digital landscape safely and efficiently.
The resource persons for the programme were Imlirenla Longkumer, Tabennaro Longkumer, and Imlimoa.
Dr. T Alemla Longkumer, Principal of MCTE, in her welcome address, highlighted the growing significance of digital literacy in today’s educational and social contexts.

Imlirenla Longkumer, one of the resource persons, delivered an insightful session on cybersecurity, shedding light on various cyber threats and malware attacks.
She urged participants to remain vigilant against online risks, offering practical advice such as preventing hacking attempts, avoiding scams, maintaining cyber hygiene, and utilizing antivirus tools. She also demonstrated techniques for tracking lost devices.
Expounding on emerging technologies, Longkumer introduced “Emerging tools on generative AI,” describing it as a technology that mimics human behaviour to enhance automation, productivity, and innovation.
She stressed responsible usage, outlining dos and don’ts, including protecting personal data, fact-checking AI outputs, and crafting precise prompts for optimal results.
Hands-on training sessions, led by Tabennaro Longkumer and Imlimoa, engaged participants in practical exercises with digital productivity tools, focusing on improving efficiency in educational tasks.
The programme's second and third days featured advanced training on cybersecurity risks, leveraging AI tools, digital literacy, digital world safely, responsibly, and productively in a technology-driven future.
