Longleng District Legal Service Authority conducts legal awareness programme at Alayung village, Longleng district.

DIMAPUR — The Longleng District Legal Service Authority (DLSA) conducted a legal awareness programme at Alayung village, Longleng district, under NALSA's Effective Implementation of Poverty Scheme 2015, on September 11.
According to a DIPR report, NJS Secretary, Longleng DLSA, Kumdilong Kessen, delivered the keynote address, highlighting the importance of legal awareness in poverty alleviation. Kessen also mentioned that a court system is a framework for administering justice, comprising various courts with distinct jurisdictions, powers and procedures.
Retainer lawyer Panglang Y Phom, sensitised the villagers about their rights and entitlements under various poverty alleviation schemes, and provided them with information on how to access these benefits like eligibility criteria, application process and grievance redressal mechanisms.

Deputy LADC, P Monyei Phom, briefed on the victim compensation and Lok Adalat with success stories and informed about the upcoming National Lok Adalat.
The programme saw active participation from various sections, including women and marginalised groups.
Participants took part in interactive sessions and later they were provided with informational materials, including pamphlets and brochures on various rights by PLVs Yingli Keikung, Manau and Nyingching.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by panel lawyer Bongnyei, and women pastor Alayung Baptist Church delivered the invocation.
The legal awareness programme at Alayung village was initiated by PLV Yingli Keikung. A total of 34 participants attended the programme.
