Abu Metha launches a dialysis unit at District Hospital Mon and reviews key development initiatives in the district.
DIMAPUR — The Chairman of the Investment and Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN) Abu Metha visited Mon district from September 1 to 2 to review ongoing development initiatives.
According to an update, the visit focused on strengthening healthcare services, enhancing public infrastructure through corporate social responsibility (CSR) interventions, and promoting grassroots entrepreneurship and access to formal credit.
As part of the visit, the chairman formally launched the dialysis unit at District Hospital Mon, currently managed by Doctors For You (DFY) under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. IDAN and DFY have collaborated since 2023 to implement healthcare-related CSR projects across Nagaland, aimed at addressing critical medical needs and improving access to essential services at the district level.
It was mentioned that DFY assumed official management of the dialysis unit in March 2026. The facility is dedicated to delivering accessible, affordable, and quality renal care. It presently operates with four dialysis machines and four fully equipped beds and has been designed to accommodate additional capacity as demand grows.
The renovation, logistical relocation of the unit, and procurement of supplementary equipment and furniture were fully supported by Doctors For You.

The chairman also announced the installation and commissioning of seven solar street lights under the IDAN CSR initiative within the hospital campus and along the primary access road, improving safety and accessibility for patients, attendants, healthcare staff, and visitors after dark.
During the programme, five new beneficiaries received loan disbursement letters facilitated through the Swavalamban Connect Kendra (SCK). Since its launch in 2024, SCK has facilitated credit linkages for 156 beneficiaries in Mon district and supported 189 individuals in setting up new enterprises.
The chairman further travelled to Longwa, a key tourist destination in the district, where five solar street lights were provided through the IDAN CSR initiative to enhance infrastructure and improve the visitor experience at the site.
Metha pointed out the need for development interventions to remain responsive to community needs and deliver visible, sustainable, and inclusive outcomes. He highlighted the importance of partnerships with organisations such as Doctors For You and other stakeholders in complementing public efforts and expanding the reach of development programmes.
