WOKHA — In line with its mission to enforce a drug-free district from May 1, the Lotha Youth Hoho (LYH) apprehended multiple individuals involved in drug trafficking and peddling across Wokha town.
On May 2, the Tsumang Colony Youth detained one alleged peddler, followed by the Wokha Village Youth Organisation apprehending another on May 3. Acting on further tip-offs, the LYH apprehended a third individual on Monday. The offenders have been identified as Phyobemo, Meribeni, and Zuchilo.
Following its resolution, the LYH expelled all three from Wokha district for a period of five years and directed them to leave by Friday. Each offender was also fined INR 50,000.
Reiterating its stand, the LYH stated that strict measures will continue to be enforced to curb the menace of drug abuse and safeguard the community.

It appealed to the public for active cooperation, stressing that the initiative is not for individual recognition but for the collective welfare of society.
The organisation further warned that anyone found providing shelter or protection to expelled offenders will face action under its resolution.
On rehabilitation, the LYH highlighted the urgent need for a detoxification centre in Wokha and called upon churches to contribute meaningfully to the effort. It acknowledged Pastor Zanbemo Kithan for his continued support in the initiative.
The organisation also cautioned that attempts to undermine or oppose the anti-drug movement—whether through phone calls or other means—would invite strict action from the Wokha Village Youth Organisation and Longsa Youth Organisation.
The LYH affirmed that surprise checking drives and patrols will continue in coordination with law enforcement agencies to curb drug abuse and ensure public safety in the district.
