Zunpha Multipurpose Cooperative Society Ltd. feted at NABARD foundation day celebration

DIMAPUR — Zunpha Multipurpose Cooperative Society Ltd. has been conferred the prestigious Best Performing Primary Agricultural Credit Society (PACS) award during the NABARD foundation day celebration, commemorating the International Year of Cooperatives 2025.

The event was held at the NABARD Regional Office conference hall, Dimapur, on July 11, an update stated.

The programme began with a welcome address by OP Mounglang, Deputy General Manager of NABARD, followed by a welcome of the chief guest and an inaugural address by Paulianap Bulte, General Manager and Officer-in-Charge of NABARD's Nagaland Regional Office.

A speech was delivered by DRCSN, Niuland, who lauded the efforts of cooperatives in strengthening rural economies and fostering community resilience.

The highlight of the event was the felicitation of awards, where Zunpha MPCS Ltd. and NSCtB were recognised for their outstanding performance and contributions to the cooperative movement.

The programme also included a presentation and release of the NABARD Annual Report 2024–25, providing key insights into the progress and impact of various cooperative and rural development initiatives.

Orenthung Lotha, Commissioner & Secretary, Cooperation department, in his address, emphasised the importance of strong cooperative institutions in achieving inclusive and sustainable growth.

A quiz on cooperatives was organised, engaging participants and reinforcing the spirit of cooperation and learning. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Sarat Kumar Behera, Assistant General Manager, NABARD.

“Receiving this honour is a testament to the collective hard work, dedication, and faith of all members and partners of Zunpha MPCS Ltd. The society remains committed to empowering rural communities, strengthening sustainable livelihoods, and promoting cooperative values in Nagaland and beyond,” the update stated.
