Advisor Zhaleo Rio inaugurated the NPF 5 Ghaspani-II Assembly Constituency office at Medziphema town.

DIMAPUR — Advisor for Urban Development and Municipal Affairs Zhaleo Rio inaugurated the newly established office of the Naga People's Front (NPF) 5 Ghaspani-II Assembly Constituency at City Centre in Medziphema town on July 14.
According to an update, the programme was attended by members of the NPF Central Office Bearers (COB), office bearers of the NPF Chümoukedima Division, and party workers from the NPF 5 Ghaspani-II Assembly Constituency.
Addressing the gathering as the special guest, Rio lauded the efforts of the constituency leadership under the stewardship of NPF 5 Ghaspani-II Assembly Constituency President Thepfuselie Makritsu for establishing the party office to facilitate the smooth and effective functioning of the organisation.
“The Advisor strongly rejected the claim made by certain political parties that regional parties lack a clear agenda, describing such assertions as misleading, irresponsible, and politically motivated. He asserted that the Naga People's Front is not merely a political organisation but an institution that represents and safeguards the aspirations of the Naga people,” the update read.
He stated that the NPF remains firmly committed to protecting the unique identity, culture, customs, traditions, and history of the Nagas, while safeguarding the special constitutional provisions under Article 371(A) of the Constitution of India. He further reaffirmed the party's commitment towards an honourable and inclusive resolution of the long-pending Indo-Naga political issue.

Highlighting the ongoing Census 2027 and the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, Rio urged party workers and the general public to register themselves at their actual places of residence instead of reverting to their native villages.
He stressed that accurate population enumeration and electoral enrolment are essential for ensuring genuine representation, effective planning, and the protection of every eligible citizen's democratic rights. He called upon party workers to guide and assist the public in ensuring accurate census registration and voter enrolment.
The advisor also encouraged party functionaries to disseminate information on the developmental initiatives and achievements of the government, particularly in rural areas, so that people remain informed about the progress being made across the state and are able to avail themselves of various welfare schemes aimed at improving the lives of the underprivileged.
Welcoming the merger of the Rising People's Party (RPP) with the NPF, Rio described the development as a significant step towards strengthening regional unity. He expressed confidence that the merger would further consolidate the regional political movement and enhance collective efforts towards peace, unity, and prosperity for the Naga people.
The newly inaugurated office was dedicated and blessed by Rev. Viheshe Zhimomi.
Speeches were also delivered by NPF Chümoukedima Division President Neikhriehu Kense, Women's Wing President R Ajila Yimkhiung, and NPF 5 Ghaspani-II Assembly Constituency Advisor Khehovi Yepthomi.
