Wokha Town Council visited Mokokchung Municipal Council to exchange ideas on governance and waste management practices.

DIMAPUR — The Wokha Town Council (WTC) undertook an exposure visit to the Mokokchung Municipal Council (MMC) on June 12 to facilitate knowledge sharing on municipal governance and solid waste management practices. According to an update, councillors of the WTC, led by chairperson W Myingthungo Kikon, visited the MMC, led by chairperson Imkongchuba.
During the visit, a coordination meeting was held at the MMC conference hall to facilitate sharing of insights on various ongoing activities of the two councils. The meeting provided a platform for discussing activities undertaken by both councils, as well as the challenges they face and strategies to address them.
As part of the exposure visit, the WTC delegation also visited several sites under the purview of the MMC, including abattoir facilities, composite plant and material recovery facilities (MRF).
The visit aimed to foster collaboration and knowledge sharing between the two councils, with a view to improving service delivery in solid waste management through segregation of waste and proper disposal, and enhancing the overall quality of life for citizens in both municipalities, it stated.
