DIMAPUR — Hovishe and Ghotovi villages have announced the lifting of the bandh on vehicular movement along the Niuland-Zhadima road following assurances from the Public Works Department (PWD).
According to a joint statement issued on Wednesday, the bandh has been withdrawn with effect from Thursday after the office of the Chief Engineer, PWD (R&B), Kohima, informed that the road has been prioritised for inclusion in the upcoming plan schemes. The department has also recommended the project for consideration under the Central Road Infrastructure Fund (CRIF) 2025–26 priority list.
The villages cautioned, however, that any failure to act on the assurances given would be met with “appropriate democratic action.”
