DIMAPUR — As part of community outreach activity, the B.Ed. first semester student-teachers of Unity College of Teacher Education (UCTE), Dimapur, on November 6 visited Silas Care Centre at Nahorjan in Karbi Anglong district, Assam.
An update from the college stated that the purpose of the visit was to enhance their knowledge on the functioning of the centre concerning the welfare of the rehabilitated people.
It stated that the group was welcomed by the director of the Centre, Moarenla Amer, which was followed by a short programme chaired by Menangchiba L Pongen, while an invocation prayer was said by Khahwan Konyak and Bible reading by Benito.
During the programme, testimony was shared by Mhonbemo Ezung, while a song was presented by Imnangangshi Ozukum and Hangming Shiu and concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by V Uto Chishi and a benediction by Orenponi Lotha.

After the programme, a lively game session was conducted, during which the residents enthusiastically participated. It stated that gifts were presented to the winners.
Report further stated that the day proved to be a heartwarming and enriching experience for the students, reminding them of the joy found in sharing time, compassion and kindness with others.
