Students of BC Olive School undertake educational visit to fire station in Kiphire town on Friday.

KIPHIRE — With an objective to help students understand more about community helpers and safety measures beyond the classroom, students of BC Olive School, Kiphire, organised an educational visit to the Fire Station in Kiphire town on Friday.
Officer-in-charge of the Fire Station, Tsarose S Sangtam, welcomed the students and spoke on the Nagaland Fire Service Act, 2023. He encouraged schools to set up fire safety systems in their buildings and offered technical help.
The students were taken on a tour of the fire station, where they saw firefighting tools and equipment and also got an opportunity to try on protective uniforms.
ASI Meyielemba Jamir and ASI Khariba T Sangtam made a live demonstration, showing how to use hosepipes and fire extinguishers. They also shared important fire safety tips such as avoiding electric hazards, not playing with matches and knowing the emergency number to call during a fire.

“This visit was the first of its kind and a great experience for our students,” said Alem Rudy, proprietor of BC Olive School, adding that, “It helped our students understand the importance of fire safety and appreciate the hard work of our firefighters.”
She thanked the Kiphire Fire Station team for their time and support.
The visit helped students learn new things, ask questions and gain respect for the brave men and women who serve the community as firefighters.
