Tuensang will begin the Special Intensive Revision of the electoral roll from August 5, with house-to-house verification by booth level officers and publication of the draft roll on September 20.
DIMAPUR — Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer, Tuensang, Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa has notified that the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral roll will commence from August 5 to ensure that every eligible citizen is included in the electoral roll while ineligible entries are identified and removed.
According to a DIPR report, booth level officers (BLOs) will conduct house-to-house visits from August 16 to September 14, to distribute and collect enumeration forms (EFs).
The exercise is aimed at facilitating timely verification of the forms and ensuring the smooth completion of the enumeration process.
All electors have been requested to keep a recent colour passport-size photograph ready for affixing to the enumeration form, as it is mandatory. No supporting documents will be required during the enumeration phase.
Electors requiring assistance in filling up the enumeration forms may approach their respective BLOs or contact the district helpdesk at the District Election Office, Tuensang Headquarters, where officials will be available to provide guidance.

The draft electoral roll will be published on September 20, 2026. Following its publication, electors have been advised to verify details such as their name, date of birth and relative's name from the copy of the electoral roll available with their BLO.
Eligible persons whose names are left out, or voters whose details require correction, may submit claims or objections using Form 6 or Form 8, as applicable, along with the prescribed declaration form during the claims and objections period from September 20 to October 20.
During the notice phase, from September 20 to November 18, the electoral registration officer (ERO) will issue notices to identify and rectify anomalies or discrepancies in electoral records.
Electors receiving such notices have been requested to respond promptly and keep the required supporting documents ready for verification.
The DC and district election officer also appealed to all administrative officers, ward authorities, village councils, village development boards (VDBs) and citizens to give wide publicity to the SIR activities and processes.
They have been further requested to remain available during the house-to-house visits and extend full cooperation to BLOs for the smooth and successful conduct of the Special Intensive Revision.
