Three Congress councillors from Chümoukedima and Tuli town councils join NPF, strengthening the regional party’s grassroots presence in Nagaland
DIMAPUR — The Naga People's Front (NPF) on Tuesday gained three elected councillors from the Indian National Congress, with representatives of Chümoukedima and Tuli Town Councils formally joining the regional party.
A press release informed that the councillors are K Wati Imchen, Ward No. 8, Chümoukedima Town Council; Temsumenba Imsong, Ward No. 6, Tuli Town Council; and K Imlitemjen Jamir, Ward No. 8, Tuli Town Council.
They joined the NPF at an induction programme held at the party’s Central Office in Kohima in the presence of NPF Secretary General and Advisor Achumbemo Kikon.
Welcoming the councillors into the party fold, Kikon described their decision to join the NPF as a significant step and said their induction would strengthen the party’s grassroots presence.

He highlighted the NPF’s regionalist political identity and its commitment to pursuing the Naga political question through peaceful and democratic means.
NPF Senior Vice Presidents N Bendang Jamir and Charlie Sekhose, along with Vice President (Organisation and Establishment) Benjamin Lorin, welcomed the three councillors and expressed confidence that their induction would strengthen the party in their respective areas.
The programme was attended by senior NPF leaders, central office bearers and supporters accompanying the newly inducted councillors.
