NPF reaffirms commitment to Naga political solution, disaster relief and organisational strengthening during consultative meeting chaired by Neiphiu Rio
DIMAPUR — The Naga People's Front (NPF) on Wednesday reiterated its commitment to pursuing an early resolution of the Naga political issue while calling for greater unity among Nagas and assuring support for those affected by the recent monsoon disasters across the state.
The resolutions emerged from a consultative meeting of NPF legislators and senior party leaders held at the party's central office in Kohima under the leadership of Chief Minister and NPF president Neiphiu Rio.
Addressing the meeting, Rio identified the Naga political issue and the state's overall development as the party's key priorities, stressing the need for unity and coordinated efforts to address both political and developmental challenges.
Calling on the Naga people to remain united, Rio said collective effort was essential to safeguard the interests of the people and to achieve lasting peace and sustainable development.

The meeting also reviewed the impact of the recent spell of heavy rains, landslides and floods that have claimed lives, damaged infrastructure and disrupted livelihoods in several districts.
Expressing concern over the situation, the party resolved to extend all possible support for relief and restoration efforts and urged its leaders and workers to reach out to affected communities.
The NPF also deliberated on organisational matters, including strengthening coordination within the party, enhancing grassroots engagement and preparing a roadmap for future political and organisational activities.
