Mokokchung administration holds SVEEP meeting with Longkhum Village Council to ensure peaceful 28 Koridang by-election.

DIMAPUR — In view of the forthcoming by-election to the 28 Koridang A/C, the Mokokchung district administration conducted a Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP)-cum-coordination meeting with the Longkhum Village Council on Monday at Longkhum Village.
Deputy Commissioner of Mokokchung Ajit Kumar Verma emphasised on the great authority and greater responsibilities of the village council to guide the community in all socio-political activities that can take the village ahead, a DIPR report stated.
To this effect, the DC maintained that to create a peaceful atmosphere for the conduct of the coming by-election, the village council as an authorised institution of the government has great responsibilities to bring about changes through guidance and awareness among the masses.
Verma also reiterated that the electioneering machinery will be constantly coordinating with the council to ensure a peaceful, free, and fair conduct of the election process.
After the awareness programme, the DC & DEO, along with the official, inspected all the polling stations at the village.
