The Department of Social Work at St. Joseph University in Chümoukedima organises Cultural and Literary Day 2026.

DIMAPUR — The Department of Social Work at St. Joseph University, Chümoukedima, organised its Cultural and Literary Day 2026 on the theme “Remembering our stories, reclaiming our roots” on September 30.
The programme was organised to celebrate cultural heritage, promote literary and artistic expression, and provide students with opportunities to demonstrate skills, creativity, teamwork, and appreciation of traditional practices.
A total of 83 students, three research scholars, and six faculty members of the department participated in the event, with students divided into four groups to compete in various categories, according to a press release.
In his address, Fr. Dr. L Anish, Public Relations Officer of St. Joseph University, encouraged students to preserve and practise cultural values while focusing on self-development in the age of social media. The session concluded with the university anthem presented by students of MA Rural Development third semester.

Nagaland eyes specialty coffee boom
The cultural sessions featured competitions in folk song, painting, Mr. and Miss Ethnic, folk drama, and folk dance. An outdoor session included traditional activities and games such as war cry, bamboo walking, high jump, traditional fire making, and tug of war.
Group 4 Ethos was declared the overall winner of the Cultural and Literary Day 2026.
