DIMAPUR — The Secheku Area Public Organisation (SAPO) and the Western Chakhesang Mothers' Association (WCMA) have both condemned the physical abuse of an 11-year-old girl allegedly perpetrated by her foster mother in Pfutsero.
In a press statement, SAPO said that it is disheartening to see that a child is not safe even at home.
Stating that the attitude of the mother is totally unacceptable in any society, it said that SAPO will not tolerate any such unbecoming human action and firmly stands with the victim child in seeking justice.

The WCMA, in a similar condemnation note, stated that such barbaric behaviour is a gross violation of the fundamental rights of a child and an absolute disgrace to the sacred role of motherhood.
