Facilitated by personnel from Dream a Dream, the training focused on enhancing empathy towards children, strengthening self-awareness among educators, and building facilitation skills to create safe, supportive, and joyful learning environments.
Key activities included personal poems, creative visualisation, and listening and non-listening exercises with validation practice sessions to contextualise SEL within Nagaland’s education system.
Officials noted that strengthening educators’ social and emotional competencies is essential for improving student well-being, building creativity and confidence, and nurturing responsible individuals.
The SRG members will support SEL implementation in 176 pilot schools and contribute to upcoming phases of teacher training across the state.
