Satakha Old Students’ Union celebrates its golden jubilee with G Kaito Aye, Minister of Roads & Bridges, as special guest

DIMAPUR — The Satakha Old Students’ Union (SOSU) celebrated its golden jubilee (1975-2025) on the theme ‘Honouring the glorious past, envisioning the promising future,’ with G Kaito Aye, Minister of Roads & Bridges, as the special guest at Satakha Old Baptist Church, on Saturday.
Addressing the gathering, the minister commended the pioneers who established the union, noting that under their visionary leadership, the SOSU has reached this milestone, an update stated.
Aye stated that with societal advancement, the progress of a village or society depends on education. “If children are literate, the village will progress,” he said.
He also acknowledged that many students from Satakha have succeeded in various competitive exams, and urged them to continue excelling in various fields.
He highlighted that Satakha Old is among the pioneers and at the forefront, having contributed significantly to the Satakha area.
The minister challenged the attendees, saying that merely celebrating 50 years is not enough.

“We must reflect on what the village and union have impacted and contributed to Satakha and the Sumi community in general—this should be our priority,” he emphasised.
He urged students to give their best and also appealed to the people of Satakha to unite in building a new Satakha.
Aye noted that the Satakha assembly constituency is a key stakeholder that has contributed to the Sumi and Naga people, calling on everyone to support its welfare and legacy.
He wished for Satakha Old to remain a prosperous and progressive village.
Further, the minister emphasised the importance of quality education and urged Satakha citizens to enrol their children in Satakha Government Higher Secondary School.
“We have highly qualified and trained teachers,” he informed, encouraging everyone to study in Satakha town.
