SAMETI organises a three-day training programme on agricultural marketing and market linkages for agricultural officers in Medziphema.

DIMAPUR — The State Agricultural Management and Extension Training Institute (SAMETI) organised a three-day training programme on "Agriculture marketing & market linkages" for officers from the Department of Agriculture and Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) functionaries in Medziphema from August 31 to September 2.
According to an update, the inaugural programme was chaired by Yezaho Swu, Deputy Project Director of SAMETI.
In his keynote address, Bodevi Shuya, Director of SAMETI and Principal of the Integrated Extension Training Centre (IETC), highlighted the need for continuous assessment and strengthening of the existing agricultural marketing system in Nagaland to better understand its challenges and address the gaps in market linkages between farmers and markets.
He urged the participants to place greater focus on the needs and interests of farmers and to ensure that relevant opportunities, knowledge, and information are effectively disseminated to farmers, thereby enabling them to make informed decisions and improve their access to markets.
The resource persons for the training were Prabin Das, Marketing Specialist at the Central Institute of Horticulture (CIH), Medziphema, and Nukuzo Phesao, founder of Nature Fuel India & Warehouse 103.
