DIMAPUR — Educational institutions, including Public College in Dimapur and Sao Chang College in Tuensang, organised parting socials to bid farewell to their graduating batches.
Public College, Dimapur, organised its parting social and alumni meet on April 13 to bid farewell to the graduating batch of 2023 to 2026 and to reconnect with the alumni.
According to an update, the event was organised with the initiative of the students’ union and junior students, aiming to celebrate memories, strengthen bonds, and create meaningful interaction between past and present students.
In his address, A K Singh, Vice Principal, acknowledged the growth and all-round development of the students during their time at the institution and expressed confidence that the qualities they acquired would guide them in their future endeavours.
Sao Chang College, Tuensang, organised its 50th parting social for the batch of 2023 to 2026 on April 14 at the college’s multipurpose hall on the theme “Empowered to achieve”.

Delivering the keynote address, guest speaker Chingmak Chang, Executive Engineer, Water Resources Department, Tuensang, urged students to look beyond government jobs and explore opportunities in sectors such as tourism and entrepreneurship.
He highlighted the importance of quality education and encouraged aspirants of competitive examinations to put in greater effort and determination.
He also shared the role of the Investment and Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN) in providing employment and skill development opportunities.
Meanwhile, a workshop on “Basic digital skills and use of Google Forms” was successfully conducted for the non-teaching staff, organised by the IQAC at the conference hall of the college on Wednesday.
Tekameren Walling, Assistant Professor in the Department of Botany at Sao Chang College, was the resource person.
The objective was to enhance their digital literacy and enable them to perform day-to-day administrative tasks in an increasingly technology-driven environment efficiently.
The workshop introduced Google Forms, Google Sheets, and Google Docs as simple yet powerful tools for data collection and management.
