DIMAPUR — The Nagas in Cambodia (NACAM) held its 20th annual meet at the Cambodia Country Club in Phnom Penh from April 12 to the 14th.
The gathering brought together members of the Naga community from across various provinces during the Khmer New Year, stated a press release.
Out of approximately 100 registered members, 43 adults, including missionaries and young adults, and 14 children participated in this year’s annual conference. It said that the annual meet continues to serve as a vital platform for members to reconnect, strengthen relationships, and grow spiritually while celebrating their shared identity and faith.
The three-day conference featured a variety of activities. A fellowship service on the second day was led by Betsy Panmei, followed by the observance of the Lord’s Supper conducted by Rev. Gihuka Swu.
A business session was also convened, during which new leaders for the 2026 to 2028 term were elected. The newly appointed NACAM leadership includes Theophilus Gangmei as president, John Khing as vice president, Kekhriese Kennao as secretary, and Giang Gonmei as treasurer.

One of the highlights of the event was the fun night held on the final day. The programme featured a provincial choir competition, talent show, Bible character fashion show for children, and interactive icebreaker games.
Rev. Gihuka Swu, a pioneer among the Nagas in Cambodia, urged all Nagas living in Cambodia to attend the annual meet. He highlighted the importance of NACAM and how it has been a source of encouragement and unity for many individuals.
He further encouraged everyone that whenever the NACAM annual session approaches, they should not schedule other appointments or engagements. Instead, they should give priority to this once-a-year gathering, valuing the opportunity to come together in fellowship, strengthen bonds, and express love and commitment toward NACAM.
Theophilus, the newly elected president, stated that NACAM remains open and supportive, encouraging any Nagas coming to Cambodia to reach out to its officials or members for assistance.
