DIMAPUR — A sensitisation drive for the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act of 2012, themed “It takes a village to protect a child, let’s do it together”, was held at Phenwhenyu Village Council Hall, Tseminyu, on Wednesday.
It was organised by the District Child Protection Unit in collaboration with the district administration, Tseminyu, according to a DIPR report.
During the programme, EAC Tseminyu, Mhathung Ngullie, addressed the participants regarding the significance of organising such a drive. He reminded the village council chairmen (VCC) and civil society organisations present that POCSO cases cannot be compromised in any manner.
The programme was attended by VCC, GBs, and members of Rengma Hoho, Rengma Mother Association, churches, youth organisations, and the students’ union.
