DIMAPUR — Oriental College Kohima observed its second graduation day on Thursday, with Prof. Buno Liegese from the Department of Education, Nagaland University, attending the occasion as the guest speaker.
In her address, Liegese expressed appreciation to colleges across Nagaland for their resilience and adaptability in navigating the structural changes introduced in recent years, according to an update.
She commended the institutions for their commitment to academic excellence despite the challenges. Turning to the graduating students, Liegese offered words of encouragement, urging them not to settle into their comfort zones but to continue striving for personal and professional growth.
She emphasised the importance of embracing change, setting higher goals, and working diligently to achieve them. Advocating for a growth mindset, she encouraged the graduates to remain open to learning and to continuously acquire new skills relevant to their evolving aspirations.

Liegese also extended her support to those students who were unable to clear their exams this year, motivating them not to feel defeated but instead to persevere and aim to graduate in the coming year with renewed determination.
Addressing the current students, she advised them to invest wholeheartedly in their studies and to avoid distractions that could hinder their academic journey.
Meanwhile, during the event, the Best Graduate award was presented to Karishma Rasaily of B.Com.
A special award was given to Dziesekhrietuo Khezhie for securing rank 1 in BA (Tenyidie), Nagaland University (2025), and to Karishma Rasaily for securing rank 6 in B.Com, Nagaland University (2025).
