DIMAPUR — A two-day training programme for officers was conducted at the Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) Secretariat in Kohima on May 8 and 9.
The training focused on enhancing professional capacity in mental well-being, soft skills, and legislative drafting. It was initiated and conducted in partnership with the INRIS India Foundation and MIND India, according to an update.
Inaugurated by NLA Secretary Khruohituonuo Rio, the programme was attended by around 40 officers from the NLA Secretariat across all cadres.
On the first day, resource persons from MIND India, Guwahati, led sessions on mental health and workplace skills. Dr. Sangeeta Goswami, Counselling Psychologist and President of MIND India Guwahati, addressed mental well-being, stress management, and positive mental health practices.

Deepankar Bhattacharya, COO of Zemidi and Consultant to MIND India Guwahati, conducted sessions on soft skills covering communication, interpersonal effectiveness, and professional conduct.
On the second day, Benjamin Newmai, retired Commissioner and Secretary and legal consultant, delivered a session on legislative drafting. The session covered principles, processes, and best practices in drafting legislation to strengthen technical proficiency.
The training equipped officers with practical tools to manage workplace stress and enhance technical competence in legislative drafting.
