IMAPUR — The Konyak Students' Union flagged off the "Education Wheel Tour" phase III on Monday, with the initiative launched by the Superintendent of Police of Mon, Kanchan Kumar Kandpal, at the Mon headquarters in the presence of officials and frontal organisations.
According to a press statement from KSU, the union has resolved to tour 124 villages across the Mon district within a span of eight days.
The primary objective of the tour is to strengthen awareness and outreach in the education and health sectors. The tour aims to interact directly with people at the grassroots level and understand the prevailing challenges they face.
During the course of the tour, the union will conduct an awareness campaign focusing on issues such as the prevention of anti-social elements, conservation of wildlife, migration trial, child labour, girl child education, coaching and guidance for army recruitment, and the theme "Your language is your identity".
The union stated its belief that the future of the region largely depends upon awareness, education, discipline, and the collective participation of the people. The initiative has been undertaken in collaboration with the district administration and security forces to ensure effective outreach and public participation.
The union expressed concern that lapses in various government sectors have adversely affected the development and welfare of the region. Through this tour, the union seeks to create awareness among citizens while bringing to light the pressing issues affecting people at the grassroots level.
The Konyak Students' Union appealed to all villages, civil societies, youth bodies, and citizens to extend their cooperation and support towards the successful completion of the tour and awareness campaign.
