The NVBDCP team conducts vector-borne disease monitoring and stakeholder meetings in Wokha.
DIMAPUR — A monitoring and supervision exercise was carried out in Wokha district from July 29 to the 31st by the National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme (NVBDCP) team from the Directorate of Health and Family Welfare, Nagaland, in close coordination with district officials.
The team was led by State Programme Officer and Joint Director of NVBDCP Dr. Imnapokim and Universal Immunisation Programme State Programme Officer and Joint Director of Immunisation Dr. Imkongtemsu.
According to an update, supportive supervision was provided across multiple health facilities, including sub-centres, health and wellness centres, primary health centres, community health centres, and the District Hospital Wokha.
The team also conducted stakeholder engagement in the district. On July 30, a sensitisation meeting on vector-borne diseases was held at Bhandari Town Hall, which was attended by over 70 stakeholders. The keynote address was delivered by Extra Assistant Commissioner of Bhandari, Kilangtemsu.

Subsequently, a district review meeting was convened at the conference hall of the Chief Medical Officer's office, followed by a sensitisation meeting with stakeholders in the presence of Deputy Commissioner of Wokha K Mhathung Tsanglao at the DC conference hall on July 31.
More than 40 participants, comprising Wokha Town councillors and colony chairmen, attended the meeting. The key discussion points during the meeting focused on the regular usage of Long-Lasting Insecticidal Nets, strengthening surveillance, and the removal of mosquito breeding grounds. The monitoring and supervision team also included state NVBDCP consultants, a state lab technician, and an insect collector.
