Tseminyu hosted a district stakeholders' consultation under Mera Resham Mera Abhimaan 2.0 to boost sericulture development.
DIMAPUR — A district stakeholders' consultation meeting under Mera Resham Mera Abhimaan (MRMA) 2.0 was held at the deputy commissioner's (DC) conference hall in Tseminyu on July 31.
The programme, which is part of the National Mega Sericulture Technology Transfer Campaign of the Central Silk Board under the Ministry of Textiles, was jointly organised by Dr. Kaiho Kaisa, Scientist-B at the Central Muga Eri Research and Training Institute (CSB-CMER&TI), Lahdoigarh, in collaboration with District Sericulture Officer of Tseminyu Vilhousienuo Khro under the Department of Sericulture.
According to a DIPR report, DC Tseminyu Japheth Woch attended the programme and highlighted the importance of interdepartmental coordination and active stakeholder participation in strengthening the sericulture sector in the district.
The consultation brought together progressive farmers, farmer groups, entrepreneurs, self-help groups (SHGs), youth, women, and other key stakeholders to deliberate on the strategic implementation of MRMA 2.0 in the Tseminyu district.

Delivering a detailed presentation, Dr. Kaisa outlined the vision, objectives, and expected outcomes of MRMA 2.0, stressing the role of scientific technology transfer in enhancing raw silk production, improving productivity, and increasing farmers' income.
The meeting focused on the objectives and framework of MRMA 2.0, stakeholder roles and responsibilities, implementation strategies, institutional coordination, resource requirements, timelines, and convergence mechanisms for the effective execution of the campaign.
An interactive discussion also provided stakeholders with an opportunity to share field-level experiences, identify district-specific challenges and opportunities, suggest practical solutions, and finalise immediate action points for the successful implementation of MRMA 2.0 in the district.
The recommendations and insights generated during the consultation will serve as key inputs for the preparation of the District Sericulture Development Plan (DSDP) and the district-specific action plan under MRMA 2.0.
