The Konyak Union welcomed Arunachal Pradesh Minister Gabriel Denwang Wangsu's solidarity visit to Mon, received relief support, and extended flood assistance to affected families in Assam.
DIMAPUR — The Konyak Union (KU) on Sunday welcomed Cabinet Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, Gabriel Denwang Wangsu, who paid a solidarity visit to the Konyak Union Office in Mon following the recent natural disaster in the district.
In a press release, the Union stated that KU president K Yamao Konyak expressed gratitude to the minister for his visit, saying it reflected the strong bond of brotherhood among the Konyak people across state boundaries and demonstrated compassion and unity during a difficult time.
During the visit, Wangsu conveyed his deepest condolences to the bereaved families and assured the people of Mon of the full support and solidarity of the Konyak community in Arunachal Pradesh. As a gesture of humanitarian assistance, he also extended relief support to families affected by the disaster.
Deputy Commissioner of Mon, Wennyei Konyak, thanked the minister for his generosity and said his continued support reflected the enduring relationship between the Konyak people of Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh.
The Union also expressed appreciation to the All Assam Naga Welfare Society for extending relief assistance and solidarity to the affected families.

The KU further welcomed Kunki Chowdhury, former candidate from Guwahati Central and a member of the Shrimanta Shanker Society, Assam, who visited the Union office to convey her condolences and provide relief assistance.
Meanwhile, a Konyak Union delegation visited Charaideo district in Assam, where it distributed relief assistance to flood-affected families and held a meeting with the Joint Action Committee (JAC) of Mon and Charaideo.
During the meeting, the Union clarified that the alleged "Dikhu Dam" being circulated on social media and certain news platforms is non-existent.
The Konyak Union expressed gratitude to all individuals and organisations that have extended support and solidarity to the people of Mon during the challenging period.
