No arrest has been made 17 days after a Shillong businessman allegedly lost consciousness and was robbed in Dimapur
DIMAPUR — No arrest has been made even 17 days after a Shillong-based businessman was allegedly robbed near Town Hall in Dimapur on September 18, with police stating that investigation into the case is still underway.
The businessman, identified as Danny Thankyou, alleged that he was robbed after being followed by three persons while travelling towards the Naga Shopping Arcade (Supermarket) area after arriving at Blue Hill Station, Dimapur, at around 5.30 am.
According to his account, the incident took place near Town Hall, where one of the three persons allegedly approached him from behind and covered his mouth with a cloth, causing him to lose consciousness.
When he regained consciousness, Thankyou said he found that his mobile phone and a bag containing identity documents and approximately INR 12,000 in cash were missing.

Thankyou, who has been doing business in Dimapur for around three years, reportedly travels between Shillong and Dimapur to sell aluminium cookware at wholesale rates.
He lodged a complaint at the East Police Station on the same day.
The businessman further claimed that he spotted two of the alleged persons involved at Dimapur Railway Station on September 19 and informed the police about it.
However, no arrest has been made so far.
Dimapur Police confirmed that the case remains under investigation. Police said CCTV footage from the area had been collected and that efforts were underway to identify and apprehend the alleged culprits.
