DIMAPUR — The NNC/FGN and the Liangmaipui Baudi Nagaland have condemned the recent resurgence of ethnic violence and the ongoing captivity of six innocent Liangmai Naga men in Manipur.
The NNC/FGN under the leadership of Zhopra Vero, through its Ministry of Rali Wali Affairs, expressed deep anguish over the ethnic violence that has engulfed Ukhrul and Kangpokpi districts and continues to spread.
In a press statement, the NNC/FGN stated that the senseless loss of precious lives, encompassing village volunteers, church leaders, and innocent civilians, coupled with the wanton destruction of homes and property, constitutes a criminal assault on human dignity and a betrayal of the ideals of peaceful coexistence and harmony in Naga society.
It denounced the killings reported in Litan-Sareikhong, Mullam, and Shongphal, as well as the ambush and killing of three Thadou Baptist leaders—Rev. Vunthang Sitlou, Rev. Kaigoullun, and Pastor Paogoulen—on May 13 in Kangpokpi district.
It also condemned the abduction and killing of six innocent Naga hostages—Pr. Kenpibou, Rev. Manu, Phenrongwibou, Phenrilungbou, Dilip, and Kaliwangbou—and the burning of homes.

The NNC/FGN called upon all armed groups and individuals to immediately cease hostilities and urged both Nagas and Kukis to exercise maximum restraint and abjure reprisal and retaliatory responses.
The group added that while it is committed to a lasting peace and building sustained harmonious relationships with its neighbours, any flagrant denial of the historical truth that the ancestral land of the Nagas belongs to the Nagas, as well as any deliberate distortion to serve the interest of vested parties, will be met with firm opposition. It affirmed that an assault on a single Naga, motivated by political interests, is an assault on the entire Naga nation and will be met with a decisive and steadfast response.
Meanwhile, the Liangmaipui Baudi Nagaland has also condemned the captivity of six Liangmai men.
In a press statement, the organisation stated that while it unequivocally condemns the murder of three Thadou church workers, it is appalled by the abduction of innocent villagers from Konsaram without any provocation from the Liangmai Naga community.
The organisation noted with concern that even after more than ten days, the whereabouts and condition of the six abducted men remain unknown, calling the situation a failure of the Manipur state government machinery to protect innocent lives and act against armed militants.
The Liangmaipui Baudi Nagaland demanded the immediate, unconditional, and safe release of all innocent persons being held captive to prevent further escalation of the volatile situation.
