ENSF federation assembly on Aug. 29


DIMAPUR — The Eastern Naga Students’ Federation (ENSF) will hold its 26th federation assembly on August 29 at Sangpur village, to be hosted by the Yimkhiung Akherü Arihako (YAA). “This biennial assembly is one of the most significant events in the ENSF calendar, serving as a vital platform for collective deliberation, policy formulation, and strengthening of unity among the federating units,” the ENSF stated in a press release. The federation urged all federating units, advisors, senior leaders, and concerned stakeholders to take due note of the date and ensure timely presence and active participation in the assembly.

Restriction on NH 129-A stretch lifted

DIMAPUR — Additional Deputy Commissioner of Peren, D Robin, has, in an advisory, stated that in view of the public inconveniences caused to travellers plying along National Highway 129-A (Manipur-Peren Road), the restriction imposed on passengers bound buses vehicles along the 2.88 stretch within Peren town portion has been lifted with immediate effect. The ADC further informed that circular, issued in the interest of public conveniences, is for strict compliance.


BJP Nagaland welcomes new governor


DIMAPUR —  The BJP Nagaland has welcomed Ajay Kumar Bhalla, on assuming charge as the 22nd Governor of Nagaland. In a press release, the state BJP stated that with his vast administrative experience, vision, and commitment to public service, Governor Bhalla is expected to provide valuable guidance to the State Assembly as he begins his responsibilities in Nagaland.

“The BJP Nagaland looks forward to his tenure in strengthening good governance, driving development, and preserving the rich cultural heritage of our people,” it stated.

 

Oriental College holds poster painting contest


DIMAPUR — As part of the nation-wide two-month intensified IEC campaign to enhance and intensify awareness of HIV and  STI among the public, the Red Ribbon Club of Oriental College, Kohima, has organised a poster painting competition on Tuesday on the theme "Be informed, be aware! My health, my Right!” The first prize was won by Lendongrenla Jamir of BA 5th semester, while the second and third prizes were won by Bemang of B.Com 1st semester and Neihunuo Puro of BA 3rd semester respectively. Certificates were given to all the participants and cash prizes were awarded to the winners by the college’s principal, Dr. Watinaro Longkumer.
