Neitho FC clinches CSU Penalty Shootout title at Medziphema as football tournament promotes youth participation, unity and sportsmanship
DIMAPUR — Neitho FC emerged champions of the Chakhroma Students' Union (CSU) Penalty Shootout Competition held at the Medziphema local ground on Wednesday, while Team Viphrü finished runners-up. Neithovilie Chalieu of Neitho FC was named Best Goalkeeper for his outstanding performance during the competition.
Held on the theme "One Shot, One Chance, One Goal," the tournament drew enthusiastic participation from football teams and youth from across the Chakhroma area, promoting sportsmanship and healthy competition.
Angami Students' Union president Diezevisie Nakhro, who attended as the special guest, encouraged young people to strengthen unity and cooperation through sports, emphasising the importance of teamwork and mutual respect.
The CSU stated that the event reflected its commitment to encouraging sporting activities and fostering unity among the youth through football. It congratulated Neitho FC, Team Viphrü and all participating teams for making the tournament a success.
