KOHIMA — Nagaland United Sports Club defeated Mao Students' Union 2–1 on Monday to advance to the semi-final of the 25th NSF Martyrs' Memorial Trophy.
Nagaland United SC will face the winner of the fourth quarter-final match between Kuki United FC and Anal Lenruwl Tangpi, scheduled to be played on October 14, Tuesday, at Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima, from 4:30 pm onwards.
Sanathoi Metei’s brace in the 22nd and 67th minutes secured the victory for Nagaland United SC. He was later adjudged Player of the Match and received the award from Neibalie Rio, special officer to the chief minister of Nagaland, who attended the third quarter-final match.
For Mao Students' Union, Ngararsuing scored the lone goal in the 72nd minute.
