KOHIMA — Nagaland government will hold a high-level meeting on May 29 to review monsoon preparedness amid concerns over landslides, rockfalls and road disruptions across the state during the rainy season.
Deputy Chief Minister TR Zeliang, who is also the minister in charge of Planning & Transformation and National Highways, informed media persons in Kohima on Thursday that the meeting would be chaired by the chief minister and attended by all allied departments along with officials of National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL).
“Taking into account the major problems faced by the people of the state during monsoon, including landslides, rockfall and mudslides, we will have a sitting tomorrow to discuss the matter,” Zeliang said.

The deputy chief minister also said that the government would ensure that contractors executing road projects adhere to Detailed Project Report (DPR) specifications and complete works within the stipulated timeframe.
He further informed that the state government is pursuing early sanction of ongoing National Highway projects in Nagaland and expressed hope that approvals would be accorded “very soon”.
