DIMAPUR — The Joint Coordination Committee (JCC) on IAS Induction—comprising CANSSEA, FONSESA, NIDA, NSSA, and NF&ASA—has announced that the ongoing pen-down strike will continue after its meeting with the Cabinet sub-committee on Monday failed to yield any resolution.

According to a statement issued by the JCC, the meeting was held at 11 am on October 20 in the office chamber of the chief secretary to present the committee’s demands regarding the selection of non-SCS (State Civil Service) officers into the Indian Administrative Service (IAS).

The issue was “deliberated and debated at length,” it stated, but the Cabinet sub-committee was unable to accede to the JCC’s demands.

It was informed that the matter would now be placed before the state Cabinet for a final decision.

“In view of the meeting resulting in no logical solution, it is conveyed to all departments and service associations that the ongoing pen-down strike shall continue till further instructions or till our demands are met by the government,” the statement read.

It added that all other modalities for the pen-down strike issued earlier would remain in force.
