- DIMAPUR — The
Nagaland Olympic Association (NOA) has invited applications from eligible male
sportspersons across the state for enrolment in the Indian Army as Agniveers.
The recruitment is being conducted in collaboration with the Assam Regimental
Centre, Shillong.
- According to an update, this recruitment is specifically
open to talented athletes in basketball, cross country, handball, hockey,
karate, shooting, swimming, and volleyball.
- The tentative recruitment rally date is the third week of
July, with the venue at the Assam Regimental Centre, Shillong. Initial
screening in Nagaland will take place in the third week of June in Kohima.
Shortlisted candidates will receive preparatory training before the final
rally.

- The eligibility criteria require candidates to be between 17
years and 6 months and 21 years of age and have passed Class 10 with at least
45% aggregate and 33% in each subject. Physical standards include a height of
160 cm, a weight of 48 kg, and a chest measurement of 77 cm with a minimum 5 cm
expansion.
- All affiliated sports associations have been requested to
identify and nominate eligible candidates and submit the list of interested
sportspersons to the NOA office by June 18.
