DIMAPUR — In a move to strengthen surveillance and response systems for vector-borne diseases, a dedicated control room has been established in the state to ensure timely reporting, monitoring, and coordination.
The control room was established following a decision made during a review meeting with the state team of the National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme (NVBDCP) on March 31, stated an update.
The meeting was held by Dr. Imnapokim, Joint Director and State Programme Officer of NVBDCP under the Directorate of Health and Family Welfare.
The control room will monitor vector-borne diseases such as malaria, dengue, chikungunya, Japanese encephalitis, kala-azar, and lymphatic filariasis across the state.

The control room will operate under the supervision of the State Entomological Wing, NVBDCP, and the Directorate of Health and Family Welfare. It will be responsible for the systematic collection, compilation, quick intervention, and analysis of data related to these notifiable diseases.
The initiative aims to enhance early detection, improve response time, and strengthen overall disease surveillance and management in the state.
