DPDB meetings scheduled in Kiphire, Longleng

DIMAPUR/MOKOKCHUNG — Outstanding students from classes 10 and 12 in the Mokokchung district were felicitated for their academic excellence during the monthly District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting held at the Deputy Commissioner’s conference hall in Mokokchung on Wednesday.
The meeting also saw the declaration of the Cleanest Ward Awards for 2025-26 under the Mokokchung Municipal Council and various town councils.
Top three rank holders from the district in both HSLC and HSSLC examinations were honoured by MLA and DPDB chairman Nuklutoshi Longkumer.
In HSLC, from the district, those who made it into the top 20 and were felicitated were Imnayangla from St. Mary’s Residential School, Alichen; Lipoklemla Jamir from Ladybird School, Mokokchung; Temsukumla Imchen from Queen Mary Higher Secondary School, Mokokchung; Benjongsenla from Baptist Higher Secondary School, Mangkolemba; and Akumtola Jamir from Christian Standard Higher Secondary School, Changtongya.
In the HSSLC Science stream, the awardees were Maokum T Longkumer from Mayangnokcha Government Higher Secondary School, Mokokchung; Chendila Walling from Queen Mary Higher Secondary School; and Anadil Raza from Mayangnokcha Government Higher Secondary School.

HSSLC Arts stream winners included Roshni Kumari Gupta from Queen Mary Higher Secondary School, Mokokchung; Lanusanen Jamir from Government High School Tuli; and Monyu from Mayangnokcha Government Higher Secondary School.
In the HSSLC Commerce stream, all top positions in Mokokchung went to students from Mayangnokcha Government Higher Secondary School: Chubatila Pongen, Tongtisangla, Susangienla M Jamir, and Sano Maya Gurung.
Alempang Ward wins cleanest ward title
Under the Cleanest Ward Awards 2025-26 under Mokokchung Municipal Council, Alempang Ward secured first place, followed by Salangtem Ward in second and Kichutip Ward in third.
Under Changtongya Town Council, PWD Ward claimed first position, with Church Ward in second. Under Tuli Town Council, Longpong Ward took first place, while Aitlenden Ward came in second position. Under Mangkolemba Town Council, Satihit Ward bagged first position, followed by Hokiyong Ward in second.
During the DPDB meeting, the house reviewed the minutes and action-taken report of the previous session and approved two major development proposals.
Deputy Commissioner of Mokokchung, Ajit Kumar Verma, briefed members on the recent DCs’ Conference held in Kohima and called upon all departments to ensure better coordination and efficient resource management.
He also informed the board that the district administration is working on instituting a ‘District Teachers Award’ to recognise and honour dedicated educators.
The principal of Fazl Ali College, Mokokchung, presented the institution’s recent achievements and sought continued support from the DPDB.
Under other agenda items, the board recommended the registration of the MI Small Tea Growers Cooperative Society, Saringyim. It also approved the upgradation of Green Hills Public School, Chuchuyimlang, from a middle school to a high school.
DPDB meetings scheduled in Kiphire, Longleng
Meanwhile, DPO and Member Secretary DPDB Kiphire, Koroto Ngullie, has informed that the DPDB meeting of Kiphire has been scheduled to be held on May 15 at 11 am in the DC’s conference hall, Kiphire.
The Department of Industries (DIC) and Social Welfare Department, Kiphire, will present their respective departmental activities during the meeting.
DPO and Member Secretary, DPDB Longleng, B Longai Phom, has informed that the DPDB Longleng meeting for the month of May is scheduled to be held on May 16 at 10 am at the DPDB Hall.
The Public Health Engineering will present departmental activities during the meeting.
