The Kohima Municipal Council officially takes over the management of the public graveyard in AG Colony, Ward-15.

DIMAPUR — The management of the public graveyard at AG Colony, Ward 15, Kohima, has officially been handed over to the Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) following a meeting held at the office chamber of the Deputy Commissioner, Kohima, on May 4.
According to a DIPR report, the meeting was chaired by Deputy Commissioner Kohima, B Henok Buchem, and attended by representatives from KMC, AG Colony Council, family members of Sazo Kiso, and the District Revenue Administration.
According to the minutes of the meeting, the decision to transfer the management of the graveyard to KMC was taken in the public interest and for the convenience of the residents of AG Colony and Ward 15.

Kohima administration pushes for waste segregation, sanitation drive
Subsequently, a formal handing-over note was signed between the Kohima Municipal Council and Sazo Kiso at the KMC office on Wednesday. The agreement stated that the KMC would henceforth manage all activities related to the KMC public graveyard at AG Colony.
The handing-over note was signed by KMC Chief Executive Officer Alemyapang Longchar and Sazo Kiso in the presence of witnesses from both sides.
The agreement further acknowledged the services rendered by Sazo Kiso in managing the property over the years. It also stated that the KMC would initiate necessary formalities as per the Land Revenue department regulations and assume management of the property with immediate effect.
