WOKHA — Day five of the ongoing Lotha Football Championship 2026 saw four matches played at the local ground, Wokha, on Monday.
In the opening match of the 15th edition of the championship, Nitsu Yan FC registered a 2-0 victory over Star Madrid FC. Yiben Ezung broke the deadlock in the 12th minute before Axenmongba doubled the lead five minutes later, sealing the win for Nitsu Yan.
According to an update, the second match of the day turned into a goal fest as Friends Club FC defeated Emirates FC 14-2.
The contest began evenly with both sides scoring twice within the first ten minutes—Nesidie Peseyie netting for Friends Club in the 1st minute, while Zachamo Ovung equalised in the 5th.

Renjamo restored the lead in the 9th minute, only for Zachamo to level again in the 10th. From there, Friends Club took complete control, spearheaded by Renjamo who scored eight goals (18’, 24’, 35’, 38’, 52’, 63’, 72+2). Lirhonthung added a brace (22’, 50’), Joel Haokip scored twice (28’, 60’) and also forced an own goal (65’), completing the 14-2 triumph.
Airfield Colony FC edged past Tsumang FC 2-1 in the third match. After a goalless first half, Vizo opened the scoring in the 57th minute. Sulanthung equalised almost immediately for Tsumang, but Chenithung’s strike in the 67th minute proved decisive as Airfield Colony secured the win.
In the day’s final encounter, Yon Sporting Club defeated Old Changsu FC 2-0. Yongsen Ao scored in the 13th minute, while Sentisang added another in the 48th to ensure a comfortable victory.
The last group stage qualifying matches are scheduled for February 3, where Airfield Colony FC will take on Star Madrid FC, Yon Sporting Club will play against Flamingo FC, and NRFC will be up against Nitsu Yan FC.
