Longleng District Task Force on Immunisation discusses AFP surveillance and HPV vaccination strategies.

DIMAPUR — A Longleng District Task Force on Immunisation (DTFI) meeting was held at the District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) hall, Longleng, on Thursday under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner W Manpai Phom.
Surveillance Medical Officer, National Public Health Surveillance (NPSE), Dr. Mohammad Abdul Haleem Azhar from Mokokchung, delivered a detailed report on the AFP surveillance update in Longleng district.
According to a DIPR report, he suggested focusing on vaccine-preventable disease (VPD) surveillance and measles-rubella (MR) elimination by ensuring all blocks achieve MKI and MR, regular sharing of feedback to districts and blocks, and regular field visits along with block and district officials.
Dr. Imtijungshi, Universal Immunisation Programme/Reproductive and Child Health (UIP/RCH), delivered a report on Human Papillomavirus Vaccination (HPV). He spoke about cervical cancer and mentioned that the vaccination has been given in 155 countries to ensure safety and effectiveness.

The chairman urged the gathering to prepare at the ground level so that the launching of vaccination would be smooth with a higher percentage of vaccination.
He also mentioned the achievements of the district on the registration of the Chief Minister’s Health Insurance Scheme (CMHIS) and Ayushman Bharat and requested the student community to encourage their parents and localities to register to avail of the benefits provided by the government.
