Hydrangea Fair 2026 at Khuzama Village recorded INR 5 lakh sales, promoting floriculture and eco-tourism.

DIMAPUR — The first Hydrangea Fair 2026 was held at Khuzama local ground, Kohima, on May 23, organised by Khuzama Empowerment & Skill Advancement (KESA).
According to a press release issued by KESA, the fair brought together villagers, visitors, growers, and well-wishers, showcasing the beauty and potential of hydrangea cultivation in the village.
A total of 15 stalls were set up displaying a variety of hydrangea flowers along with other flowers, attracting visitors throughout the day.
Apart from the flower exhibition and sales, the fair featured food stalls, guided garden and safari experience, photography spots, Pucho Hibo Museum walk, and various competitions aimed at encouraging local growers and young talents.

The event recorded a total sale of approximately INR 5 lakh, reflecting the growing interest and economic potential of floriculture in the region.
The competitions were judged by the president and team of the Nagaland Flower Growers Society (NFGS).

Earlier, the programme commenced with an opening prayer by Mhaphuvi Naleo, pastor of Khuzama Baptist Church.
KESA expressed gratitude to sponsors, participants, volunteers, judges, and visitors for contributing to the success of the fair.
The organisers stated that the event was aimed at promoting community participation, tourism potential, and sustainable livelihood opportunities through floriculture in Khuzama Village.
“The overwhelming success of the 1st Hydrangea Fair 2026 lays a strong foundation for its continuation as a cornerstone of community development, cultural promotion, and eco-tourism initiatives, ultimately building momentum towards the Khuzama Baptist Church Centenary celebrations in 2030,” the release stated.
