India Meteorological Department warns of very heavy rainfall in Nagaland till May 4, with thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds expected across Northeast India.

KOHIMA — The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday warned of isolated very heavy rainfall in Nagaland from April 29 to May 4.
According to the IMD, fairly widespread to widespread light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorm, lightning and gusty winds (speed reaching 30–50 kmph) is likely over Northeast India during the next five days.
The IMD also stated that Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura will likely experience thundersquall (wind speed reaching 50–60 kmph gusting to 70 kmph).

The report stated that isolated heavy rainfall is likely over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya till May 4, and over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura during April 29 to May 5.
It further stated that Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura will likely experience isolated very heavy rainfall during April 29 to May 4, while similar conditions are expected over Arunachal Pradesh during April 30 to May 2, and over Assam and Meghalaya during April 30 to May 3.
