KOHIMA — Following heavy rainfall on Saturday afternoon, mudslides occurred at the KMC dumping site in Jotsoma, blocking vehicular movement along the route.


According to sources, clearance efforts are currently underway to reopen the road for traffic. In the meantime, all vehicles have been diverted through the Jotsoma bypass road.

In a separate incident, a portion of the retaining wall of the DIG Complex at the Nagaland Police Headquarters (PHQ) in Kohima collapsed at around 2.30 pm on Saturday.


While no casualties were reported, the collapsed wall damaged three vehicles parked along the road. A recovery vehicle from Kohima DEF and a JCB from the Police Department have been deployed to clear the debris, which is expected to be completed by Sunday.
